
Lt. Colonel Tim K’Nuckles
Lieutenant Colonel Tim K’Nuckles is a deputy director of the department and is the senior commander of all Arkansas State Police Administrative Operations, including the divisions of headquarters Administrative Services, Regulatory & Building Operations.
K’Nuckles, a native of Jefferson County, was commissioned as an Arkansas State Trooper in 1985 and initially assigned to the Highway Patrol Division, Troop F in Chicot County. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 1995 and assigned as post supervisor in Union County.
In 1998 K’Nuckles was promoted to lieutenant and assigned as an administrative assistant to the commander of the Highway Patrol Division and later transferred to serve as Administrative Assistant to the State Police Director. He was promoted to captain in 1999 and assumed command of Highway Patrol Division, Troop E.
Prior to assuming duties as Arkansas State Police Deputy Director, Lieutenant Colonel K’Nuckles served as chief of staff to former director, Colonel Steve Dozier.
Lieutenant Colonel K’Nuckles is a graduate of the Northwestern University Traffic Institute, School of Police Staff and Command.

Lt. Colonel Shawn Garner – Field Operations
Lieutenant Colonel Shawn Garner is a deputy director of the department and is the senior commander of all Arkansas State Police Field Operations, including the divisions of Highway Patrol, Criminal Investigation, and Crimes Against Children.
Garner, a native of Hot Spring County, was commissioned as an Arkansas State Trooper in 1990 and initially assigned to the Highway Patrol Division, Troop C in Poinsett County. In 1995 he transferred to Criminal Investigation Division.
In 1999 Garner was promoted to the rank of sergeant assigned to the Highway Patrol Division, Troop A, later transferring to Troop K.
Garner was promoted to lieutenant in 2007, and five years later promoted to captain, commanding Troop K. In 2013 he was promoted to the rank of major and assumed new duties as Highway Patrol Division commander for the Arkansas western region.
Lieutenant Colonel Garner is a graduate of the Northwestern University Traffic Institute, School of Police Staff and Command.
