About Us
The Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy (ALETA) was established in 1963 by the Arkansas General Assembly. The objective of ALETA continues to be “for the training and instruction of state, county, municipal, and other law enforcement officers”. Basic and specialized law enforcement training courses are taught at ALETA year round. ALETA continues its mission with training courses that are continuously revised and updated to provide students with the most effective and current training possible.

Announcement
ALETA has created a four-week Pre-Academy Preparation Program (PAPP) to acclimate the new Law Enforcement Officer with firearms, department policy, and a physical training regimen prior to attending the Academy.
After many years, we have found that students have less stress, fewer problems, retain information better and perform required physical tasks significantly better, when they have had an opportunity to get somewhat familiar with the job functions of Law Enforcement prior to their first day at the Academy.
Please visit the PRE-ACADEMY PREPARATION page to access resources needed for successful completion of the program.
