About Us
The Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy (ALETA) was established in 1963 by the Arkansas General Assembly. The objective of ALETA continues to be “for the training and instruction of state, county, municipal, and other law enforcement officers”. Basic and specialized law enforcement training courses are taught at ALETA year round. ALETA continues its mission with training courses that are continuously revised and updated to provide students with the most effective and current training possible.

Announcements
Starting July 1, 2019, the ACIC elective portion of the ALETA Basic Academy will no longer be available at ALETA. Police Administrators can find the certification class by contacting ACIC or visiting their webpage.
Starting July 1,2019 the Physical Fitness Test for the Law Enforcement Basic Training Academy will include a 300 meter run. The run will take the place of the current agility test. The current battery of tests will consist of the 1.5 mile run, the sit and reach, the 300 meter run, sit ups in one minute, push ups in one minute, and the maximum single repetition bench press.
