AR Law Enforcement Training Academy
The Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy (ALETA) was established in 1963 by the Arkansas General Assembly. The objective of ALETA continues to be “for the training and instruction of state, county, municipal, and other law enforcement officers”. Basic and specialized law enforcement training courses are taught at ALETA year round. ALETA continues its mission with training courses that are continuously revised and updated to provide students with the most effective and current training possible.

Due to an outbreak of COVID (as well as hazardous weather) at the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy in East Camden – we have been shut down. We will begin training again starting Monday February 22nd at 0800 hours – virtually using ZOOM with a modified schedule for the 2021-A class. We have attempted to make contact with all departments and current academy students. If you have any questions or want further information please contact Training Supervisor Juan Reyes at firstname.lastname@example.org .
Thank you for your understanding.
After considering current guidelines from the CDC and the Arkansas Department of Health, ALETA-Camden has made the decision to postpone the start date for Basic Class 2020-B from April 26, 2020 to May 31, 2020. This was not an easy decision, but we believe it’s best for the health and safety of our students and staff.
Starting July 1, 2019, the ACIC elective portion of the ALETA Basic Academy will no longer be available at ALETA. Police Administrators can find the certification class by contacting ACIC or visiting their webpage.
Starting July 1,2019 the Physical Fitness Test for the Law Enforcement Basic Training Academy will include a 300 meter run. The run will take the place of the current agility test. The current battery of tests will consist of the 1.5 mile run, the sit and reach, the 300 meter run, sit ups in one minute, push ups in one minute, and the maximum single repetition bench press.
